 Every 2 seconds, someone in the US need blood _ you; son; daughter; relative; friend
                  1 in 10 people entering the hospital need blood
                             The average transfusion uses 3-4 pints of blood

 A newborn baby has about one cup of blood in its body
        The average adult body contains 10-12 pints of blood
          A person can donate blood 5-6 times a year - the average donation/ year/person  = 1.4 times

 97% of us will need blood sometime in our life - only 5% of medically eligible people donate blood
